Participants will have the opportunity to choose between two simultaneous outdoor experiences: a guided hike along the Swamp Fox Passage of the Palmetto Trail or a peaceful yoga session at Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site.
The hike will encourage exploration of South Carolina’s natural landscapes while offering an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of Francis Marion, the “Swamp Fox,” and his pivotal role in the American Revolution, while the yoga session provides a chance to connect wellness, history, and nature within one of the state’s most significant colonial landscapes.
Whether walking through scenic Lowcountry environments and learning about Revolutionary War history or practicing mindfulness among the historic remains of the former trading town along the Ashley River, participants will experience the benefits of outdoor recreation, reflection, and community engagement. Together, these activities highlight the importance of preserving South Carolina’s natural and cultural resources while providing meaningful opportunities to recharge, learn, and enjoy time outdoors.
