Join us for an educational event and urban walk that explores the natural beauty and environmental initiatives surrounding Swan Lake, the Prisma Health Shot Pouch Greenway, and the surrounding areas.
The SC7 team, local leaders, conservation and outdoor recreation organizations, and members of the public will gather at the Heath Pavilion at Swan Lake Iris Gardens at 8 AM to celebrate outdoor recreation and conservation opportunities in Sumter and across South Carolina and begin hiking at 9 AM. Following the gathering, a four-mile walk will showcase the beauty of Swan Lake Iris Gardens and the Prisma Health Shot Pouch Greenway, winding around the lake and along the greenway to the new Broad Street Trailhead and Park before returning to the pavilion. The experience will highlight the importance of accessible green spaces, trails, and community partnerships in promoting wellness, recreation, and conservation throughout the region, with a group photo planned at the greenway’s iconic arched entryway on Bland Avenue.
