A morning along the West Columbia Riverwalk will highlight the growing connection between outdoor recreation, river conservation, and community gathering spaces in the Midlands.
The day will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Savage Craft Brewery, where participants will gather before setting out on foot toward the West Columbia Amphitheater and Riverfront Park. The group will enjoy a scenic out-and-back walk along the West Columbia Riverwalk, following the Congaree River through one of the Midlands’ most ecologically and historically significant corridors.
Along the route, participants will experience beautiful river views, natural habitats, public art, and vibrant community spaces that showcase the waterways that have long shaped the Columbia region. The walk highlights the growing connection between outdoor recreation, river conservation, and thriving places where residents and visitors come together.
The experience will conclude back at Savage Craft Brewery with a short program recognizing local leaders and partners whose vision and collaboration have helped expand outdoor recreation opportunities, strengthen riverfront access, and enhance the quality of life throughout the Midlands. The program will celebrate the important role that partnerships, trails, and shared outdoor experiences play in building healthy, vibrant, and connected communities.
