Advance reservations are required, and space is limited. Participants interested in joining the rafting adventure are encouraged to register early through Wildwater Chattooga at Wildwater Rafting’s Website
Following the morning program along the banks of the Chattooga River, participants are invited to continue the adventure by joining a guided whitewater rafting experience with Wildwater Chattooga. This exciting afternoon excursion offers the opportunity to experience firsthand the beauty, power, and thrill of one of the Southeast’s most iconic rivers while traveling through the breathtaking wilderness landscapes that make the Chattooga so renowned.
Led by experienced professional guides, the rafting trip will navigate a scenic section of the river down to the famous Bulls Sluice rapid, one of the Chattooga’s most legendary locations. At the conclusion of the trip, rafts will be taken out at Bulls Sluice, and participants will be transported back to the Wildwater Chattooga outfitter by shuttle bus.
Famous as the filming location for the movie Deliverance, the Chattooga River is considered the crown jewel of whitewater rafting in the Southeast. Flowing through a pristine and largely undeveloped landscape, the river offers some of the most exciting and challenging rapids in the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountain region.
On May 10, 1974, the Chattooga River was officially designated a National Wild and Scenic River, just six years after the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act was enacted on October 2, 1968.
