A hike to Fort Fair Lawn will provide an opportunity to explore one of South Carolina’s important Revolutionary War-era sites while learning about the fort’s role in protecting the Pee Dee region during the fight for American independence.
Join us at 9:00 AM in the Canal Room at the Old Santee Canal Park Interpretive Center for Coffee and Conversation, featuring a discussion on the important role land trusts and local governments play in protecting and promoting our sacred places.
Immediately following the program, participants will hike to Fort Fair Lawn, one of South Carolina’s significant Revolutionary War-era sites. Along the way, we’ll explore the fort’s history and its role in protecting the Pee Dee region during the fight for American independence. After the hike, the experience will continue with a tour of the Fort Fair Lawn Museum, where exhibits and artifacts bring the area’s Revolutionary War history and cultural heritage to life.
