SUMMARY:Living Shoreline Educational Program at Fort Johnson
DESCRIPTION:The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources’ Living Shoreline Program works to protect and restore coastal habitats by using natural materials and ecosystems — such as oyster reefs, marsh grasses, and other native vegetation — to stabilize shorelines, improve water quality, and provide critical wildlife habitat.  On July 27th, a living shoreline service project will take place at Fort Johnson, where restoration efforts will showcase how nature-based solutions can help strengthen South Carolina’s coast against erosion and environmental change.
