Activities

Learning Lab

The SC7 core team will take part in a surf fishing clinic experience at Huntington Beach State Park in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR).

During the day’s activities, SCDNR staff will teach participants about the importance of South Carolina’s saltwater fisheries and the role conservation plays in protecting coastal ecosystems. The experience will also include demonstrations on safe and responsible surf fishing practices, proper fish handling, and environmental stewardship along South Carolina’s coast.

While the surf fishing clinic itself will not be open to the public, we encourage South Carolinians to visit Huntington Beach State Park on their own time and experience one of the state’s most treasured coastal destinations. Located along the Grand Strand, Huntington Beach State Park is known for its pristine beaches, salt marshes, diverse wildlife, and scenic nature trails. The park also features Atalaya Castle, a National Historic Landmark and former winter home of sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington and philanthropist Archer Huntington.
