An engaging educational program at Fort Johnson will introduce children and families to the exciting world of coastal science and conservation through storytelling.
During the event, a scientist from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will read a children’s book focused on marine life, coastal habitats, or environmental stewardship before sharing insights into the innovative research and conservation work taking place at Fort Johnson. From studying fisheries and marine ecosystems to protecting South Carolina’s coastal resources, the program will provide a fun and accessible look at how scientists help care for the state’s waterways and wildlife while inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.
